These are systems that will sound an external siren when activated. These types of system can usually be upgraded to ring up to 3 designated telephone numbers following an alarm, by using a device called a speech dialler. This type of system is usually restricted to private dwellings of low risk.
This type of system transmits alarm messages to an alarm receiving centre who in turn, can pass any confirmed alarm signals to the police, keyholders or a keyholding company. There are various methods of transmitting alarm signals to an alarm receiving centre the following are examples of the types available.
A standard telephone line is used, preferably a dedicated one. This can result in additional telephone line rental and call costs. As this uses a standard telephone line it can be cut or get damaged and it may not be immediately detected.
DualCom G2R is a single path GPRS radio based transmission system for low risk properties. It is ideal for use where a secondary telephone line or IP wired infrastructure is not available.
Dual com GPRS uses a cellular GPRS path as its preferred primary transmission route and the standard telephone path as the second path. A line cut or fault would be reported to the ARC via the cellular path with any further activation also transmitted via that route. The chosen grade determines the frequency of signal integrity checks and the timescale of path fault reporting.
Redcare is a method of ensuring the integrity of the communications path (phone line). Failure of a single secure monitored line (Redcare) would result in notification to you of the line loss by the alarm receiving centre.
Redcare GSM has all the advantages of Redcare Classic with the addition of a secondary path (GSM) to transmit any activation following a line fail, resulting in a greater degree of secure transmission path. Both transmission paths are regularly polled to ensure their integrity.
